Mother Nature
A few weeks ago (like the last week of August), we had THE MOST incredible rainstorm I have ever seen in Arizona. Three separate storms were all converging on Mesa and it ended up producing the most spectacular lightning display I've ever seen. There was, seriously, non-stop thundering and lightning from all directions for a few hours. The best way to describe the lightning was that the sky looked like a slowed down strobe light. It really was incredible! Anyway, I wanted to catch some video of it, but that's when I first realized my new camera was broken. So, I stole this footage from Jill. It really doesn't do it justice. But, be patient and watch the whole 30 seconds. I wish I knew how to slow the video down. Anyway, there's a storm going on right now that reminded me I wanted to post this. Enjoy!

My gosh! I bet that was incredible! I know exactly what that was like though- my first time at lake powell 3 storms coverged like that and we were right in the middle (in the eye of sorts) so everything was calm where we were but in every direction it was like watching a laser show! Lucky you :) Do you check your email often? I sent you one a day or two ago...
Oh man I miss those storms!! I like how the weather guys are usually oblivious to the arrival of these storms. They seem to always be caught off guard.
Just after we moved here we had a thunderstorm in the middle of the night in SP. Not normal(: I got really home sick for good ol' AZ.
Wow! I know you say that video doesn't really capture it but it was still really neat to watch! The lightning looked awesome.
